Npower: Making your bills more expensive on December 1st

21 October 2013

npower_0 The energy firms are getting past the point of parody and now, npower has announced an increase in household tariffs of 9.3% for electricity and 11.1% for gas, which will come into play on December 1st, just in time for Christmas.

They're the third company of the Big Six that have raised their prices in recent weeks. British Gas upped their prices by an average 9.2% while SSE added 8.2% to bills.

E.ON, Scottish Power and EDF Energy haven't said what their plans are yet, but you can bet they're scheming on the kind of hike that'll effectively kill every pension in Britain.

This all leaves consumers with a tricky decision - switch providers in a bid to get a cheaper price or, get locked into a fixed tariff now to avoid any further price increases. The third option of just not paying your bill and to hell with these swine on hind legs is probably not legal.

Zeppos beat me to it; although with leccy prices going up 30% in the last 3 years and my wages going up 0% over the same period, it wont be long before I am expiring as well.

Do you folks not read your own articles? A couple of weeks ago you posted an article that showed it was govt. levies that were prompting the energy companies to raise their pices to cover them.
