5 Hot UK deals for your World Cup England clobber

8 June 2010

This Saturday, then? Pull on the sweater, stroll down the boozer, see the lads win in a less-than-convincing fashion against the USA, and collapse soon after having drank so much Sol you're pissing Mexicans. That's the stuff of World Cup dreams, that is. But are you prepared for a month of short-lived elation and an alcohol intake that could floor a horse? Here are five Eng-ger-land themed deals purloined from Hot UK Deals:

Sports Direct are selling Umbro England Woven Shorts for just £6 for today only. It's £3.99 postage and packaging if you buy online, but there are discounts codes available too. That said, we'd suggest buying in-store before ordering online.(thanks to HUKD member lucerysmum)

The chances of seeing your money back on this one are slim, but for the eternal optimists out there, Viking Direct are selling a Sharp 42" LED 1080p LCD TV, with full HD with Digital HD Freeview - and they'll refund your money if England win the World Cup! Carumba! Plus there's free delivery and 10% Quidco cashback. There's probably some Trading Standards issue concerning the use of the word 'when' in the promotion below, however.  (thanks to HUKD member Buck Steele)

Bitterwallet - VIking Direct free TV if England win the World Cup!

New Look have a replica England shirt from the '66 World Cup, complete with the 1966 England vs West Germany badge. It's £15 in-store, or you can order online for £3.95 delivery, with 8% Quidco too. (found by HUKD member lllnorrislll)

Don't want the kids to miss out on the pride of the Three Lions, whatever that is? Smart. One of eBay's daily deals will get you a Respect England tracksuit for 2 - 12 year-olds with two thirds off - just £11.99. (thanks to HUKD member MikeT)

Finally, relive the great World Cups of yesterday, and probably a couple England never played in; the Guardian will have free souvenir programmes from previous tournaments, beginning this Saturday and on every day that England play. So three in total, presumably. (thanks to HUKD memberholly100)

the replica shirt looks like the 1980-83 shirt not the 1966 shirt. No deals on the proper England shirts then? Want one for myself but not paying £40 and need one for the girl friend but carn't find the womans shirts anywhere!

    Women don't like football silly

Nothing like the '66 Shirt. The TV: what happens if England win the world cup in 20 years time? Do they still pay out? Although a better bet (literally) is buy the TV from someone else for significantly less, and bet the money you save on whichever team (including England) you think will win.

They don't need to like it, they just need to take their tops off when England scores. £5 on the O2 deal plus boobs. Go England.

"Money back WHEN England win the world cup" Is there a time limit specified.... if not then surely we have a good chance of winning in the next 60 odd years before I pop me cloggs.

Does the Viking offer directly specify WHEN England win the FOOTBALL World Cup? Will the cricket, gymnastics, athletics, kayaking or tiddlywinks one suffice?
  • Kevin B.
Bugger... Customers buying a TV from Viking Direct during the promotion can claim their money back if England are the outright winners of the 2010 football world cup.

How about an article on Sir T announcing his retirement as boss of Tesco today? Would seem fairly relevant to the blog, if not quite as interesting as a lotion bottle with a black lid. Splendid article, by the way.

I hope England don't win it. I laid them off at betfair.

    Any Germany/Argentina kits available?
