The minging old toy pig that has charmed America...

22 February 2010

We’d never have guessed this, but they have the Antiques Roadshow over in the United States Of A as well as here in Britain. And why shouldn’t they? Apart from the fact that they’ve got a miniscule history and are constantly trying to get rid of stuff via the ‘yard sale.’

But we digress – the Antiques Roadshow is alive and well across the pond, and this might be the finest item ever shown on it. It’s a push-and-squeal pig on wheels and the lucky owner gets a pleasant surprise when he finds out how much it’s worth. Check your attics, people of Britain!

How many reasons can you spot that would prevent this contraption from making it into the toy shops of 2010? We reckons there’s at least four…

    So taking inflation into account, he bought it for $500 25 years ago and in 25 years its value has risen to $2000 dollars. So in 25 years of hoarding this ugly fecking thing he's managed to earn less than a £1000. I don't think i'll just stick my money in the bank instead.

    @Laurz: He said $200, not $500.

    @MikeyB I know he did but $200 25 years ago is $500 dollars in todays money isn't it?
