Let's sort out the financial crisis with a fist fight!
Now, THIS is the sort of thing we want from our captains of industry as they navigate us all through the choppy waters of financial meltdown – man-on-man violence.
Witness former KGB agent and Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev, owner of the Independent and Evening Standard newspapers, seen here in heavyweight TV debate over the financial crisis in his homeland. Heavyweight in every sense of the word – Lebedev took umbrage at something or other that was said by ex-real estate baron Sergei Polonsky and duly planted one on him.
Lebedev justified his actions by saying: “In a critical situation, there is no choice. I see no reason to be hit with the first shot. I neutralised him. KERPOW!!” Obviously we made up the “KERPOW!” bit although we suspect he actually said that later on while speaking off the record.
Tremendous stuff. For us the best bit is clearly Lebedev’s combat-style stance as he waits for the non-existent retaliation from his bewildered tormentor.
