Free flights from Ryanair, unless you're Scottish

28 October 2009

There are some of you who think people who moan about Ryanair should get the hell over themselves and take advantage of the cheap flights, but even the apologists will struggle with the Sky Marshall's latest promotion.

The budget airline is halfway through a 3 day giveaway, with 500,000 free seats up for grabs. Freebies are always welcome, unless you want to fly from, say, Edinburgh to Bratislava. The Ryanair website is delighted to inform you that this route is included in the free seat giveaway, but that the promotion is only applicable to flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:

Bitterwallet - Free flights from Ryanair. Hooray!

That'd be brilliant news for Ryanair customers, except for the fact the only flights between the two destinations are on Mondays and Fridays, and so are excluded from the promotion:

Bitterwallet - no free seats. Boo.

Clearly it's some sort of oversight, because Ryanair would never want to deliberately confuse customers on its website. Ever.

    > Free flights from Ryanair, unless you’re Scottish It's not actually if you are Scottish, but if you want to fly from an airport in Scotland. Scottish people are allowed to book flights from an English airport. English people cannot book the free flights from Scottish airports, the same as Scottish people. That said, Ryanair know that Scots are a tight fisted bunch of c*nts that don't spend on board, so why give them free flights.
