Five Mini City Breaks (Bring A Lover/Mistress etc)

We're all in need of a short break away, even in this recession. So here's a few travel deals to consider suggested from other readers:

1. 2 Nite Rail & Hotel by NX east coast trains (found by richardderbys): A two night break to a choice of a number of UK cities including London, Edinburgh, York, Newcastle, Dundee, Glasgow and Leeds. Price includes return rail travel plus your hotel accommodation and breakfast. The offer is available for departures before December 2009 (except Christmas) from any national express station (East Coast line), and is based on 2 adults sharing a twin/double. 2. 2 nights for 1 @ Intercontinental Hotels (found by elmore): This offer has been running for a while now, from the group behind The Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express. The deal applies to hundreds of hotels around Europe and is available for stays taken up to 05th May 2009. Elmore advises that a credit card is required for on-line bookings, but you can pay by debit card via the phone. This deal is non-refundable and non-changeable, so make sure you are certain of the dates and the locations before you book. [Link]

3. Free Hotel in London when you buy a theatre ticket (found by dorgie77): Hotelshop are offering a free night in a 3 star hotel with continental breakfast when you buy your theatre tickets. There is also the opportunity to upgrade to a 4 star hotel for just £20 per person or a 5 star hotel for £35 per person. Select shows include Joseph, Chicago, Wicked, and more. 4. Apartments Across Europe From £23 (86%): Do you like your independence when you're away? If so, this is the deal for you. 'MacDonald Hotels Aviemore resort 1500 rooms' (found by angelfins): This offer has expired on HUKD, but if you follow the link to the deal, you will see that the hotel group are now re-running the offer at the price of £24.99 per room per night for stays up to 2nd April 2009. So if you fancy a trip up to Scotland and want one of the 1500 rooms up for grabs at this discounted price, get booking.  Note: Aviemore is about 30 miles away from Inverness. OrigamiNinja suggests looking at flights to Inverness Airport with air carriers including Flybe, RyanAir and Easyjet.

    3. Free Hotel in London when you buy a theatre ticket (found by dorgie77) Just tried on an april date looks expired to me. didnt work

    The add mentions that the offer expires March 31 which is why availability did not show for April, a deal that good is only available for a short while.
