European airspace rebooted before your very eyes

28 April 2010

Get a load of this – it’s a time-lapse visualisation of Northern Europe’s airspace, covering the no-fly ash cloud crisis period followed by everything gradually getting back to normal. Phew!

From absolutely nothing to thousands of planes rocketing around the skies of the continent again. Beautiful.

Although let's face it, once it gets going, it does look a bit like a weird sex education film doesn't it?

Shows clearly how popular heathrow is, but it looks from that, that most people fly the shortest distances frequently, and to France.

@nobby i guess those are test flights. At one point (just before it kicks off again) you can see the heathrow to cardiff test flight.
