DEAL KLAXON - £19 rooms for this weekend at Travelodge

8 March 2011

We're trying to imagine a scenario where you're willing to drop all plans and head to either Newcastle or Reading this weekend. Impromptu stag do? Weekend of heavy drinking and public assault? That's grossly untrue and unfair; Newcastle is a hugely underrated city and lightyears from the stereotypes of eel-pie eating, cockney rhyming Southerners. As for Reading - we'll get back to you on that.

Regardless, Travelodge have just launched a deal for this weekend on Twitter; hotel rooms for just £19 a throw. Get in there now if you want one:

"Newcastle is a hugely underrated city" It should be, considering the amount Labour spent on it (and all the other strongholds). Question for you, is the ratio of people employed by the local authority still making up over 50% of the entire workforce?
  • The B.
Sorry, that should say local authority/civil service/government funded bodies.

No idea, but not sure how strictly relevant to a £19 hotel room sale that is, Bob?

Cant you buy a house in Newcastle for cheaper than that?

Looks like Bob got lost on the way to the Daily Mail website...

Last weekend i stayed in the Reading Central branch!! NEVER again you run a high change of catching something from the dirty bed.. The staff are rude and id rather spend £19 on a box and sleep on the street!!

You'd get a ruddy nice box for £19! All mod cons, in fact. Unlike a Travelodge. Travelodge=soulless hellhole. Reading=soulless hellhole. What were you thinking, Jackson?

@Paul. Not necessarily relevant to the deal but relevant to the wording of the article surely? @MP. I read the Times old boy, sorry.

@Bob Question for you, is the ratio of people employed by the local authority still making up over 50% of the entire workforce? Does the "workforce" include only those declaring their income?

£19 great, take it from the realbob, and reading between the lines we are all scum? Word on twitter is he is a salesman that parades up and down the country, "well this is the part I can write about" £19 it should be happy days for an apparent pedo.. Newcastle is a great place to visit and £19 sounds like a bargain
