Around the world in 80 plates, maps and limited edition stamps

With a nation sucking it in to further tighten their belts this summer, there's not much chance of grandiose adventuring around the world. It turns out there's no need to leave the comfort of your own home - you can be instantly transported to the deserts or Egypt or New York's Times Square through the highly realistic detail of shoddy souvenirs and products.

Photographer Michael Hughes finds himself on assignment around the world, and while travelling picks up items from gift shops along the way, in order to re-create the scene from which they may (or may not) have originated.
