All-New Great Muppet Caper – Speeding In Germany

28 October 2008

German police are hunting a deranged Muppet who has been snapped while repeatedly speeding in the Bavarian city of Bayreuth.

But they’re rather more keen to speak to the driver of the Audi TT, who they have been unable to identify so far. That’s because his car is a British right-hand drive while the German speed cameras are fixed to photograph the left-hand seat.

As the Muppet drummer Animal grins at the speed cameras from the passenger seat, the anonymous driver has been roaring around at 155kmph on roads with a 120kmph limit. A German police source has said, “The number plate is not enough. We need clear evidence of who is driving the vehicle too.”

“But because this is a British vehicle we can never get a decent picture. The driver has obviously worked this out because he has placed a large puppet in the passenger seat. This may be an example of the famous British sense of humour but it is still dangerous driving.”

Expect to see the loophole catch on here as hordes of motorists dressed as Fozzie Bear, Big Bird, and Elmo tear-arse their way down Britain’s motorways.

Below: Germany, yesterday. Possibly.

"But they’re rather more keen to speak to the driver of the Audi TT" Well theres their first mistake, thats not a TT, thats an A4 Avant. You'd think being A) German and B) Police, they'd have a bit more of a clue about these things.

Bitterwallet learns a couple of valuable lessons. Firstly, spend more time watching Top Gear. Secondly, source less info from the Daily Star.
