What's Apple got planned for this weekend...?

17 May 2011

apple store pony Say what you like about Apple but they know how to whip up a spectacle and it looks like something special could be appearing in Apple stores across the land this Sunday.

Here’s what BGR have been told by an unnamed Apple Store source…

•  There’s an overnight shift planned for around 10-15 individuals at each Apple Store to work from late Saturday all the way through mid-Sunday.

•  During the overnight shift, it’s going to be required that employees lock cell phones in the main office. They will also have to sign an NDA with Apple.

•  There are a wide variety of roles, we’re told, for the overnight shift. This includes all visuals staff, a manager, a business team member, a few Genius team members, one back-of-house employee, and a few generic Apple specialists.

•  Apple stores have apparently already received hardware to install, and are expecting more hardware to come on Friday or Saturday. All materials that Apple stores have received have been instructed to be under lock and key until after close on Saturday night.

•  Apple employees will be putting up black curtains at all stores so that people walking outside cannot see inside.

•  Employees have had to download gigabytes of data from Apple corporate labeled, “training” in a password-protected zipped folder that won’t accessible to managers or anyone else until Saturday afternoon.

•  Lastly, all Apple retail stores have mandatory meetings on Sunday, May 22nd. Most meeting are scheduled for the morning, but there are evening meetings as well.

What’s it going to be? A new iPhone? Free T-shirts and balloons? The launch of the in-store iVajazzle? We don’t know but we’ll be watching the skies for an Apple sign in the early hours of Sunday morning…

Maybe it's an advanced antenna system so that the iPhone 4 can get reception?

We have found a way to clone me. Each store will be getting an assembly manual, my DNA sequence, a download of my brain to install after completion and a care package. There are brain downloads for members of staff to install into customers too. Like the class pet, the last one to leave has to take me home for the holidays.

OR.. Here's an idea.. Apple are just being their usual pretentious wankerish selves, and it's going to be a massive disappointment?

They're going to reveal the existence of Xenu. Oh, that's another cult. Something very similar probably.

Well Apple must have way too many iPads as they're now using them to replace paper. Must be nice to be loaded, or bad to be struggling to sell them meaning they need to find other uses for them around the office... http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/05/21/apples_retail_2_0_overhaul_launches_first_in_australia.html

its that typical Apple shite again.. Its never a wonderful spectacle, but you apple fanfucks are just as brainwashed as they want you to be.. Get your credit cards out fanfucks, your gonna spend hundreds on something that is going to seem awesome, until you get home and realise you should have just stopped at the ipod classic.. I am however going to visit the store for a chuckle at the idiotic twats.. Hey I even pulled in there once.. those apple emo teens are quite hawt you know!

OK so what did happen last weekend??
  • Sawyer
@Jack Mehoff A minor change to the in-store setup. There's now iPads everywhere acting as virtual product guides. Or something like that.
