Tesco to release cheapo tablet
The supermarket behemoth aren't up for giving out any details, but rumours are plenty, with one source saying that this dirt cheap device will have a 7in display with a 246ppi 1280 x 720 resolution, a 1.6ghz Quadcore Processor, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, stereo speakers, a three megapixel camera at the back and two megapixels at the front.
It is thought that this tablet will cost around £99 and will run on Android.
If that's true, it'll be going toe-to-toe with the Kindle Fire (starting at £109) and the Google Nexus 7 (£199). It won't even be appearing on Apple's radar, you'd suspect.
It seems incredibly likely that Tesco's Blink Box service will come as a tie-in too.
"I can see Tesco using substantial discounts on other services such as bundled media from Blinkbox, or vouchers for discounts on petrol or groceries through its ClubCard loyalty scheme," says Ben Wood, a mobile analyst with CCS Insight.
