Google and Samsung team up for Nexus Prime and the Ice Cream Sandwich

18 October 2011

Android-Ice-Cream-Sandwich Google have got their Ice Cream Sandwich all set for launch and they’ll be delivering it inside a Nexus Prime. Does that make sense? If not, read on.

The Ice Cream Sandwich is the newest incarnation of the Android mobile operating system and it’ll be launched in Hong Kong over the next 24 hours. As an added bonus, Samsung have readied the latest incarnation of the Google phone, the Nexus Prime, and they’ll be showing off the Ice Cream Sandwich on it as part of the launch, releasing the phone in the UK sometime in the next four weeks.

According to The Guardian, the phone will run the standard Ice Cream Sandwich and won’t have Samsung’s Touch-Wiz system running on top of it. Engadget say that it will have a high-definition display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor and a screen size of up to 4.6in. Bitterwallet says: “Mmmm... ice cream sandwich...”

It is being launched ahead of new figures that should confirm Samsung as the largest mobile handset shipper in the world, knocking the ailing Nokia off its perch once and for all.

Definitely my next phone, can't wait until I can get off Vodafone but my HTC Desire has been behaving itself since I stuck the cyanogen mod on it, I can get 2 days proper use out of it now.
