Facebook cracks advertising on mobiles to squeeze out pennies
Facebook reckon adverts on phones accounted for 30% of the £787m they made from advertising in the first three months of the year. It seems Zuckerbook has finally worked out how to squeeze pennies out of our phones.
"We continue to see significant upside to current price levels of Facebook," said Brian Weiser, an anlayst at Pivotal Research Group.
We can all assume that this will mean even more advertisements hitting our Facebook pages, making everyone wish they'd deleted their account years ago, before we got vaguely dependent on it.
Mark Zuckerberg insisted recently that the introduction of more advertising had not had any “meaningful impact” on people’s willingness to use the site, even though users have been dropping in their millions. We'll just have to wait and see if Facebook is going to eventually go the way of Bebo.
