Disney make toys that interact with iPad

28 September 2011

If iPads weren't fancy enough, they're now going to be super-duper as Disney are combining their physical, actual, hold-in-your-hand toys with Apple's tablet device.

Disney Appmates toys allow kids to use their favourite Disney toys with the iPad in much the same way a piece is used on a boardgame, only more interactive.

The first line relates to Disney’s Cars and each toy has a unique footprint so the iPad knows which toy is being used, which in turn, makes the app deliver an interactive experience. THAT'S WELL FUTURE. So, at the moment, you can buy Tow Mater, Lightning McQueen, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell with more toys arriving in November.

Yes because I would totally let toddlers near a £400 ipad.

Having seen how the average toddler slams his toy car onto the surface as hard as he can before playing with it, this is not going to end well.

I'm waiting for the pin-the-nipples-on-the-little-mermaid game.
