Amazon launch genius Kindle cloud thing
If you’re a modern eBook reader with the Kindle and all that, it’s now easier than ever to get access to your virtual book library. Amazon have only gone and launched a cloud-based online version of Kindle, meaning you can catch up with the latest shite from Dan Brown whenever you’re near a web browser.
At the moment it works with Chrome and Safari and is optimised for the iPad. An iPhone-friendly version is said to be in the pipeline. You can read your books wherever you are online and Electric Pig also reckon you can download them to read offline with HTML5 or a Chrome Browser extension.
Helpfully for Amazon, it’s a nice workaround for Apple’s in-app purchase rules as well. So everyone wins – except Apple, which is great. You can try it out here.
