Amazon finally gets around to launching download store

7 August 2013

amazon-logo Online behemoth, Amazon, has finally launched their PC and Mac download store, which means you can get your mitts on over 600 games, not to mention a load of free-to-play titles.

Not only that, Amazon will also issue codes for games on Steam, Origin and UPlay.

The company was meant to launch their PC download store almost two years ago, but multiple delays out paid to that.

"Customers buying software and video games who want their products quickly can now download these products straight to their computer with the click of a button," said Xavier Garambois, Vice-President, European Consumer Business at Amazon EU.

"Not only is this exciting for everyday purchases but for major upcoming releases, Amazon customers will be able to get their hands on products without waiting for them to arrive in the post."

In less exciting news, the Amazon download store also includes PC software like Microsoft Office.
