Amazon Dash hits UK

If you're a UK customer with Amazon Fresh, you can now get the voice controlled gadget which will add products to your online baskets.

It is called Amazon Dash, and you can scan barcodes for your favourite products, or simply speak into it, and add things to your orders. You can get it for free too, when you make your second Amazon Fresh order before August 31st.

"We're all used to trying to remember the contents of the fridge and kitchen cupboard and scribbling down reminders on pieces of paper," said Ajay Kavan, VP of AmazonFresh.

"With Dash, at any given time, customers can keep track of products when they come to mind and scan to reorder groceries and household essentials as soon as they run out. At Amazon, we're always looking to innovate based on feedback and Dash has been designed to continually learn as customers use it."

You may have seen Dash before, as it was launched in 2014. However, it hasn't been available in the UK until now. Americans have been using the system for a while.

Of course, some people will prefer to do their shopping the regular way, but if you're a fan of gadgets, and are already subscribed with Amazon's services, this could be just the thing for you.

Amazon benefit from this too, as they get all that lovely raw data from you and your shopping habits.

Either way, next time you make an order with Amazon Fresh, keep an eye out for the Dash gizmo, and soon you'll be shopping like you're George Jetson or something.
