A two-dimensional dilemma for the Nintendo 3DS

Later today, Jonathan 'Wossy' Ross will demonstrate the Nintendo 3DS in Amsterdam, as the new device is launched into markets outside the Far East. There's already a problem though, as far as advertising the 3DS is concerned - how to demonstrate its 3D gaming capabilities on a 2D television screen.

Historically, Nintendo spend tens of millions on TV advertising in the UK alone, but they're unlikely to want to spend money on X-Factor contestants feigning gentle fits and occasional spasms, which appears to be how the Japanese marketing team have blown the cash:

    "how to demonstrate its 3D gaming capabilities on a 2D television screen" We get adverts for HD delivered via SD all the time. They just slow a clip down and add some rain. Maybe there is a magic formula for advertising 3D on non 3D devices too?
