Online pressure forces withdrawl of idiotic T-shirt
Consumer power has won again, with the removal of a kids' T-shirt (pictured) from the range of American clobber-retailer JCPenney. Once it appeared online, a few dissenting voices in the world of social media railed against its ‘dumb is good’ message and soon turned into an angry chorus, causing some major backtracking and apologising from JCPenney.
The blurb for the T-shirt didn’t help much either – “Who has time for homework when there's a new Justin Bieber album out? She'll love this tee that's just as cute and sassy as she is” doesn’t exactly send out an inspirational message for the younglings of the world.
JCPenney have now pulled the T-shirt and are sending out some grovelling apology messages to those who have complained about the whole sorry episode.
