It's official! Bitterwallet launches National Who Cares Day
People of Earth,
At Bitterwallet, we love the intermaweb and we love social media. We love conversing with our legion of avid Bitterwallet readers through Facebook and Twitter, and rifling through the virtual underwear drawers of celebrities and strangers alike.
But a line has to be drawn in the sand. And Bitterwallet is drawing that line.
Small talk has been reduced to quantum chatter - information so irrelevant that any signs of interest can only be detected with an electron microscope. Social networks are incredible tools for information and communication, but increasingly status updates and tweets leave us unable to form any response other than "Really, who gives a shit?".
Social conduct dictates we suppress our true feelings, and either reply with a trite remark or ignore the person in question. But we are losing the war, people, the noise is overwhelming the signal, and instead of bringing light and enjoyment to our lives, these idiots are instead filling our heads with trivia that could bore the face off a clock.
That's why we're proud to launch Bitterwallet's National Who Cares Day, which will take place on Wednesday 17th November. It will be a day to empower like-minded people, to let us openly highlight those time vampires without fear of judgment or retribution. I need help build a barn on Farmville! Who cares? I've checked into Herr Flick styling salon on Foursquare! Who cares? I've just seen a cloud that looked like an small horse. Who cares?
For now, we're asking you to:
• change your avatar on Facebook and Twitter to our National Who Cares Day logo - to identify those who feel the same, and show others you're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore
We'll also be rewarding those who fight for the right to enjoy life without having it polluted with an endless stream of minutiae - we'll have more details of this as we countdown to 17th November, but in the meantime you can download the logo today:
