Thanks Quidco! Thanks for our £[payment amount]!

30 June 2010

It's the end of the month, and that usually means a welcome boost into the Bitterwallet coffers as we bank all the cashback we've accrued by buying stuff we don't really need via Quidco.

The tension always mounts as we wait for the email informing us how much we've got, but this morning's missive from Quidco HQ has baffled us.

quidco

Can't wait for those [x] days to fly by so we can get our mitts on our £[payment amount]. Other cashback websites are available but we don't know if they're capable of sending out coherent emails or not....

I prefer topcashback - they don't take your first fiver, and even give you bonuses if you spend over a certain amount each month. No, I don't work for them.

    not nice

Agreed Martin, i used to use Quidco for a while, but found they had ended up taking half my money for their fees. TCB offer the same rates anyway, just have a slightly worse site

Whoops! As you've spotted, we had an unfortunate technical error here at Quidco which led to the rather baffling email. The good news is that you will of course be receiving a second email with the correct information, and that the correct cashback amount has been processed and is on its way straight into your bank account as usual.

fatcheese are better than either of these imo

I look forward to my emails from Nicola so I'm not happy with your scathing attack on Quidco Andy. I'm sure Paul will be fitting you out for the thumbscrews by the end of the week.

Hmm, seems like topcashback have actually upped their game since the last time I checked a while back. Cashback rates seem to be at least as good as quidco on everything I just quickly looked at. Although I'm tempted not to move from Quidco at the moment as I seem to keep being paid more than I figure out I should be! Although their website does look a bit naff. PS Eldini - you only earn £10 cashback a year then? You're either lying, or you should save your time/hassle and not bother.

Am I imaging it or did i read somewhere that HUKD/bitterwallet are actually part of the quidco family. if i didnt imagine it, then a nice piece of self advertising.

Dear Nicola, We want Laura. Best Regards.

Topcashback are way better than quidco these days. I rarely use quidco any more.

Used Quidco since it first arrived on the scene and racked up £2,000+ in referrals. I have stopped using them this year though because they are shockingly bad. They appear to have lost the plot as they've grown, to the point their customer service rivals that of British Gas. Absolutely no common sense, and they have absolutely zero clout over what the merchants get up to. So why bother wasting £5.00 a year for them to do, er, jack? Their unique selling point is that they, erm, oh, er... what is it? Topcashback has the same rates, better customer service (from what I've seen thus far) and is FREE.
  • yamum
    they are the same company

I've always used quidco but if my current earnings request is denied - for a holiday booking - then I may be looking elsewhere. I'm always very careful to make sure I do everything right to ensure tracking is successful but I only ever seem to have problems on high value amounts. Not that I'm a cynic.

Fuck me. A non standard response from Quidco, inside 1/2 an hour. Diana in heaven must be performing miracles today. I now have two important questions. 1. Is Nicola fit? 2. Should we now post our support tickets here?

That's nothing, how about this confirmation text from Orange: 'Extras from Orange. Your 250MB browsing Extra for 5 is ready to use. You can use this to browse Orange World and the mobile internet until DD/MM/YY.' :-S

@Dank: Only £2000? Noooooooob. £5450 ish and counting. I think, I'd tell you exactly how much but their site has been down for a while now, lollingers.

Topcashback FTW. Quidco invariable steal (sorry, lose) half your cashback, whereas TCB always tracks reliably. Plus TCB actually care enough about customer service to bother to reply to emails.
  • Codify
Oh, and confusedorami - yes, bitterwallet, quidco and hotukdeals are all owned by the same person (paul smith)
  • cheapskate
Codify, it's Nikkel not smith you dope. Unless it's both...
  • IfYouCopyMyNameYouAreGayIsGay
Paul Smith? As in the Nottingham Forest second goalkeeper? Or Paul Smith, the fashion designer? Or Paul Smith, the composer? Or Paul Smith, the Australian actor? Or Paul Smith, the..... Get my point? Quidco is NOTHING to do with hotukdeals.

    Does Laura have nice umbongos?

or Nicola even. I must put the crack pipe away

Switched to TCB about a year ago after a big cashback claim from Prudential was declined. I enquired with quidco at the time who said they can't do anything and they had to trust their merchants who were under no obligation to tell quidco or myself why they refused to pay. Obviously I wasn't happy with this, so I asked for my account to be deleted... Still waiting to this day for that to happen. As for TCB everything has tracked perfectly and I've not had a single thing declined, rates are comparable to quidco IMO
