Sainsbury's recall chicken meals!

21 January 2016

sainsburys Sainsbury's have recalled chicken meals from all stores, as they might kill people who have food allergies.

It's no laughing matter for those with allergies though, as the supermarket said that their Just Cook Chicken Breasts with Piri Piri sauce has the wrong thing in it, instead, having the Chicken and Bacon Lattice in it.

Seeing as the latter has milk and wheat in the ingredients, this is bad news.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued an 'allery alert', and noted that the item is 326g in size, and has a use by date of 24 January 2016. They said: "The product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to wheat or intolerance to gluten."

"If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to wheat or intolerance to gluten, do not eat it. Instead, return the product to the Sainsbury's store from where it was bought for a full refund."

Sainsbury's themselves, back this up: "It has been brought to our attention a small number of packs labelled Chicken Breasts with Piri Piri Sauce contain Chicken and Bacon Lattice which has cheese, wheat and pork that are not declared on the label."

"As a precautionary measure, we are asking customers who have purchased this product to return it to their nearest Sainsbury's store, where they will receive a full refund. No other products or date codes are affected by this issue, and we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
