Product Recall: Children's cycling product safety issues

product recall As everyone gets into Tour De France mode, or indeed, the kids just like playing on their bikes because it is the summer holidays, there's a number of product recalls parents should be aware of.

The first product that is being recalled is the Kandy Toys Boys and Girls Safety Helmet, which have been selling at The Range.

The retailer says: "We have been made aware by the Suppliers Kandy Toys, that over time the composition of these helmets can deteriorate and in some circumstances this may affect their safety performance. To date there have been no reported problems or incidents as a result of this. Therefore as a precautionary measure we are recalling these items from sale."

"If you have purchased this item, please return it to this store for a full refund. If proof of purchase is not present at the time of your return, store credit to the current retail value will be issued. We wish to thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience."

There is also a safety notice on Denver Bikes SRL, Avigo 20" HT bikes, in pink and green. SKN 709053, 709066, model numbers CF14408 and CF14409. These have been sold through Toys R Us and you can see images of them here.

The company say: "Incorrectly sides fork plates can result in front wheel becoming loose, posing a potential safety hazard. PLEASE STOP USING THE BIKE and contact manufacturer - Denver Bike SRL at 0039 0171 911 383 or [email protected] for free front wheel replacement washers"
