IKEA recall all children's canopy beds made since 1996

21 March 2014

IKEA are recalling a host of children's beds because they might strangle your offspring to death, which is obviously not a good thing, even for those of you with 'delightfully precocious' kids.

The beds look like this.

IKEA's statement reads thus:

"IKEA kindly asks customers who have purchased a bed canopy, intended to be draped around children's cots/beds, to stop using it with infants and small children and bring it back to any IKEA store for a full refund. The affected bed canopies are: LEGENDARISK, MINNEN bed Canopy set, BARNSLIG BOLL, MINNEN Brodyr, HIMMEL, FABLER, TISSLA and KLÄMMIG."

"IKEA has identified a potential strangulation hazard associated with these products. No permanent injury has been reported, but IKEA has received reports of the net being pulled into cots/beds and then becoming entangled around infants' necks. The bed canopies have been sold in all IKEA stores since 1996."

"If you have an affected product, or have any questions, please contact the Exchange & Returns department in your local IKEA store, visit IKEA.co.uk or call Customer Services on 0203 654 0010 and we'll be able to help you out."

"IKEA apologises for any incovenience this may cause."

So, not all children's beds made since 1996 then.

So it's bed canopies being recalled and not beds?

Not all beds, just the canopies. Chill n' Flex.
