Yodel, and the art of delivering packages badly...

Let’s play a game. It’s the same game that rampant Twitter user and avid Bitterwallet reader Eddie Robson played earlier. It’s called Find The Parcel (in association with Yodel).

Yes, Yodel again. They attempted to deliver a parcel to Eddie’s house earlier today but he wasn’t in. So they left it somewhere safe, secure and discreet. See if you can spot it….

No? Okay, here’s a clue.

Can you see it now? Eddie adds: 'I think it was Yodel who left a Boden delivery in the alley we never use at the old house. I found it ten months later.'

More like Yoda. Leave parcel bush behind
  • Alex
A nefarious customer would have left it a few weeks and reported the package as lost. It's not signed for so Eddie never received it. Thank heavens for Eddies honesty!
  • Tweedskin
To be fair, that looks like the picture was taken from his garden path....not from the street. I reckon it couldn't be seen from the street. But yeah, they're still cunts.
  • Alexis
Yeah - looks like a perfectly good place to leave it. Better than having to go to the depot.
  • Terry
I think the point here is that it was left somewhere very insecure, and easily damaged by weather and the dirt beneath it.
  • Mike M.
Foxes could have got at it.
  • Craig
better behind bush than drive 10 miles to collect
  • Craig
I think that's fair enough - well done Yodel for saving your customer the inconvenience of having to pick it up.
  • Tim B.
Nothing wrong with that. Well hidden, and includes a free opportunity to phone the supplier and say "Yodel say they've left my parcel behind the hedge, but someone must have nicked it. Send another, please"
  • Burt r.
Bush and box in one day...winner!
  • oliverreed
Eddie Robson was saved time and effort to collect a parcel. If the parcel is damaged or missing then report it, otherwise if it's fine and they've done you a favour - SHUT UP.
  • chewbacca
I fail to see the problem here. It was put where they said it was. Are all bw readers morons?
  • You
How do we know that he didnt order a bush, and so Yodel left it in the perfect place? Also, the way hes stacked those recylcing boxes is making my OCD flare up.
  • DragonChris
‘I think it was Yodel who left a Boden delivery in the alley we never use at the old house. I found it ten months later.’ Clearly it was well hidden then if it was still there 10 months later!
  • catweazle
What's he whinging about, Yodel actually delivered the bloody parcel. Now that is newsworthy.
  • Sicknote
Eddie Robson is a fucking prick - he'd be the first to scream when they took his grubby box of sex toys back to the depot and he had to collect it. With cunts like Eddie Robson companies like Yodel and are damned if they do and damned if they don't. You know what, if that little fat prick Eddie Robson was in front of me now I'm smack in bollocks and tell him to get a fucking life.
  • Jon
"If that little fat prick Eddie Robson was in front of me now I’m smack in bollocks and tell him to get a fucking life." Says the man angrily abusing a complete stranger over the internet... I've never met Eddie in person, but rest assured we all know he's a better man than you'll ever be, little boy.
  • Sicknote
@Jon Ah, the man with fuck all opinion on the subject matter but happy to throw stones at those who do comment - fark off you wanker
  • Dick
There are no holes in the box and the corners are still square. So it's an obvious fake. This hasn't been delivered by Yodl.
  • Stating O.
    @Sicknote It's spelt F U C K You pillock.
  • Shifty n.
Is it a box ? Within a box?
  • Arun
I Had mine left by the bins the other day. This is a fantastic improvement. normally i have to make time to go to the Yodel depot which is miles and miles away. this is better IMO. if it doesnt arrive or i cant find it.. i'll just complain and get it resent. nothing to lose :)
  • bawbag
When I lived in a second floor flat, the courier (I forget which), thought they were being very cunning by leaving the all season King size duvet under the doormat out side the front door to the flat; within the common stair. I bet no one noticed as the mat was hovering two foot in the air.
  • Rawhide
    Seriously, where's the box?
  • Tom (.
Trust me you got off relatively lightly here for an encounter with Yodel. In my experience a visit to their depot would have involved some element of: a shouty argument with someone whose game of football in the yard you have rudely interrupted, being told to come back when it's more covenient for the staff, seeing your parcel sit on a shelf in plain view, and having to weigh up whether to take it by force.

Realtedly, you should all be aware that from the 1st, The Royal Mail have forced through a change where they can now deliver your letters to anyone they like and you have no comeback. And as a sender they explicitly say there is *no* way to guarantee they will deliver it to the address you put on it. The only way to opt-out as a homeowner is to put a big sticker on your door that might as well say "I don't trust my neighbours". http://www.royalmail.com/delivery-to-neighbour
