Top 3 Asian gadget sites (alternatives to DealExtreme)

Like cheap gadgets? Hate paypal? Here are some bargain gadget shopping sites you might like. has a thread discussing good websites on which one can buy inexpensive gadgets like memory cards and game console accessories. DealExtreme is a good source for most people, but the OP wants to find an alternative way of paying without Paypal.

Here are the top three candidates:

1. The site accepts credit cards (or Paypal) and sells games, consoles, mobile phones, memory, digital picture frames, car accessories, media players, and GPS devices. Once you place an order you can track it online. Gadget-asia closes during Hong Kong public holidays. During those times you can still submit orders, but they won't be processed until Gadget-Asia opens up after the holiday. For long holidays, Gadget-Asia will notify customers by email and try to make alternate shipping arrangements.

2. Led Shoppe ( offers "LED, LED Product, Computer Goodies." It offers free shipping and accepts all major credit cards (and Paypal). Led Shoppe sells, in addition to all manner of LED devices, computer input devices, card readers, cables, flash drives, iPod accessories, PSP/PS accessories, Wii accessories, NDSL accessories, batteries, and car accessories.

3. Play-Asia ( sells games, movies, toys, music, books, and "bargains," which includes video games, movies, music, and toys. The site accepts the following payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Western Union transfers,, bank transfer, and, yep, Paypal.

Focalprice was mentioned more than those, why was it not included? Have used them myself a few times as they tend to be cheaper that DX.

Oh, and as for play-asia and gadget-asia, those sites are horrible. Not the easiest to navigate, and they aren't even cheap (in fact gadget-asia don't seem to sell much at all). Did you even check these sites out before posting this 'Top 3 alternatives to DX'?

Totally agree - Play Asia and Gadget Asia are NOTHING like Deal Extreme - get a grip man! There are plenty of DX-a-likes out there (like Focalprice) - but the two Asia sites are not amongst them. The mostly stock (official!) video games and gaming merchandise. Poor article.

Is that a squeaky iPhone dog toy in the photo? I'd love one for my dogs, as that is all the iPhone is good for, and it would show other people what I thought of the wankers that own them.

very poor article - based on a very skimpy thread. Mats pointed out that there was no mention of Focalprice and another one they missed was Bit of a shame as I think some of the articles on BW are getting better.

Yes, there are many other websites, but these 3 are ok. I recently ordered a DSi saving bundle from . They had fast delivery. They also provide free 3pin UK charger for my US DSi. I was looking for an old game kingdom heart 2 ultimate hit for my little brother and offers the lowest price and they have stock.

New gadgets are comming out daily. Its really interesting seeing how our world is now so involved with electronic devices - ie. Iphone, blackberries, Ipods, notebooks, etc. We have definetly become a connected community in more ways than one. Facebook, Twitter and everything other social media platform interconnects with us through these devices. I wonder what is going to happen in the next 10 years..... Makes you want to think.
