Tesco Value cards - once they're gone, they're gone!

16 February 2009

Nothing more than a very obvious parody that reinforces Tesco's message concerning value? Or a damaging violation of copyright material that causes harm to the Tesco brand? Whatever your point of view, we happen to think TescoValueCards.com is a well observed joke that nobody will ever confuse for the real deal and that Tesco could probably make a small fortune out of selling in-store as novelty items:

The site has dozens of cards for all occasions, but judging by the message at the top of the screen it won't be around for long:

NOTE: Tesco don't like us. They've asked us to shut.
Unfortunately we'll have to, they're bigger than me.
Quick! Grab these cards while you can!!

We've approached the site for a comment on the situation, but are yet to receive a response. In the meantime, do as they say; have a look at the designs on offer, download yours and count those savings at birthdays, weddings and Christmas. Every little helps, or so we've been told.

Well done - Registrant: James Druce. Breach of copyright laws clearly is a smart way to go.

INVESTEMENTS - miserable git, its all a bit of harmless fun.. Im sure there arent thousands of tesco fans (if there are such a lot) going round offended by the fact that someone did this. Its all in a bit of fun, bit like when people started rebranding and creating websites about Wispa and relaunching it... and hey presto, Cadbury have an increase in sales! this should be launched by tesco's, what a brilliant idea, they could do mugs, cards etc... how cool would your business cards look in a tescos value card style!

I remember valentines day two years ago ... http://www.toxic-web.co.uk/blog/2007/02/13/a-reminder-for-tomorrow/ It is a shame tesco has not picked up on it. It would be great if they made mugs and so on.
