Not on Bitterwallet’s Christmas List: No 23 – the Gin & Titonic

15 December 2009

Seriously, I can't decide whether I love the US or would like to see the entire country towed to the Moon without oxygen. So soon after the Necky™ blighted our eyes, this christmas gift is causing mock uproar in the British press, with The Sun branding it as "sick". We wouldn't go that far, but the Gin & Titonic ice cube set ("sink one in your drink!") is a bit dickish, isn't it?

Bitterwallet - slice of lime, right ahead! The Gin & Titonic

What is wrong with you shallow, callous people...................... Titanic hit an iceberg and sank two hours and forty-eight minutes later, early on 15 April 1912. The sinking resulted in the deaths of 1,517 of the 2,223 people on board, making it one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. The high casualty rate was due in part to the fact that, although complying with the regulations of the time, the ship did not carry enough lifeboats for everyone aboard. The ship had a total lifeboat capacity of 1,178 people, although her maximum capacity was 3,547. A disproportionate number of men died due to the women-and-children-first protocol that was followed. That picture makes me need a drink. Awesome advert.

Yeah, Wanking Henry has a point, talking of points Kate Winslet gets her tits out in the film. I mean if the ship didnt sink the film wouldnt have got made and thus she might never have got them out, so those 1517 souls did not die in vain, collateral damage i think its called. Back on topic: the ice drinky thing seems a bit shit.

"How long will it be before this firm makes ice cubes of the Twin Towers to commemorate 9/11?" Firstly, why would you, and secondly, about 91 years if this product is anything to go by
• Rob
Man, its nearly 100 years ago. It's hardly too early for a joke or two.
• Matt
If we apply South Park's advice something only becomes funny 22.3 years after it happened. So this is well past that cut off point and officially funny.

bought this for my boss for secret santa, she loves both gin and the titanic equally, perfect.

I am currently inventing a game where you have to crash planes into two towerblocks, made out of stacked up bricks. If you hit them right, they fall down. My middle eastern backers reckon it will sell well worldwide.
• Get I.
Lolz at the up-tight gimps bemoaning this. Get a life you sad twats.

usually I mix G&T's with my knob.
• MyOtherUserNameIsAFerarri
Andy of Yarm What? You mean you somehow DRINK your knob as a mixer along with the G&T? OR Do you just use it as a mixing device? I think clarification is required here.

re the comments made by steve. A mate of a mates did this back in 2005 or 6 for a Holloween party. Turned up dressed as 9/11. Basically a big box with a black gap in the middle and towers are each half. It had planes, flames, people jumping out the lot. I'll try and did the photo out for bitterwallet if they are interested!
• James
I would like to confirm my interest in that picture TFEB.

I'm making a 9/11 Jenga set. It's going to be awesome, should be in the shops for Christmas next year, I was thinking of releasing it on the 9th of November.
• Graham
@ wanking Henry I assume you do actually realise that 9/11 is the american way of writing 11th Sepetmber?
• Lemon
Whoosh......
• Wanking H.
Would like to thank Graham for hammering home the joke for some of the people, maybe some of them Americans, who found the tasteless humor a little too subtle.
