Newsflash: Morrison's MFest is OFF!

6 July 2012

mfest46_460 Are you one of the thousands (??) that were planning to twist the weekend away at the hip, happening MFest, the food and music festival put on by Morrisons in Leeds this weekend? Yeah, well, bad news – it’s off.

The inaugural MFest has had to be scrapped at the last minute owing to the diabolical weather that has engulfed the nation, with the organisers saying that they couldn’t guarantee public safety at the event.

A statement explains that: “This was a joint decision made between the promoter, the production team, health and safety and Harewood House. We sought advice from a number of agencies including Leeds City Council before making the decision. The public's health and safety is of paramount concern, therefore it would be irresponsible to continue however disappointed we all are. Information on ticket refunds will be issued on Monday (July 9).”

Bad news if you were looking forward to grooving along to the sounds of Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd, Inspiral Carpets and Glen Matlock (among others). We’re sure it will be back, bigger and stronger in 2013…

What a lame excuse. So it's a bit boggy. Deal with it.

Well they had to cancel the event. Just think about it, Shopping Trolleys are hold enough to control in one of their stores, never mind a soggy field with 3ft on mud to contend with !

Music?! Who cares?! I would have liked a Morrisons Meat Feast.
