In the shops now! - it's only the ASDA double whammy

17 August 2009

Behold the mythical pricing error known to label-snappers across the land - the juxtaposition of not one idiotic label, but two. The symmetry of imperfection, the duality of fail - this rarely-glimpsed event, like Halley's Comet, will no doubt never fall upon your eyes again. It's the photo they all wanted but only Bitterwallet reader Patrick managed to secure - ladies and gentlemen, we present the Double Whammy:

We've sent Patrick a mystery prize* for his keenly developed powers of observation - remember to send your pics to [email protected]

* we haven't done any such thing. Sorry Patrick.

Asda in Edmonton always has these silly prices, they must think people are stupid.

Dont mean to be pedantic or anything but what exactly constitutes a double whammy? ie do both deals have to achieve a certain temperature to qualify.?

Play.com do the same thing. One Batman / Joker T-shirt (only S available now) will cost you £2.99 including delivery. If you want two of them, it will set you back £18. http://www.play.com/Clothing/T-Shirts/4-/10502396/Batman-Joker/Product.html

If you purchase the item and point it out to customer services they will refund you the money and give you a voucher of £2 for your troubles. I recently bought a paper shredder displayed at £22.49, was charged £25, I pointed it out to them and got a refund of £2.51 and a £2 voucher for my troubles, so got the shredder for £20.49 in effect.

Not really ASDA as you'll have to spend your voucher with PLAY, and there ain't much for £2 so you'll have to spend more with them, so you've been blagged.
