in the shops now! - ASDA runs riot with the music discounts

23 July 2009

You see, 300 is a massive number. It's really quite huge. Whereas as 3 is teeny tiny, barely more than nothing, hardly worth a mention. ASDA could not refute such logic, and realised it made for a spectacular reduction in price on Avril Lavigne's album The Best Damn Thing:

Of course the problem with naming an album as such is that it'll prove to be nothing of the sort - as proven by the tatty discount voucher, it's been languishing there for some time. So thank your lucky stars ASDA saw sense and reduced the price for a quick sale.

I really hope the person that took that pic took the CD to the dumbest looking cashier and asked her how much the discount was.

The album title was also covered by the reduced sticker... oops. Someone needs more training!

LADS AT BITTER WALLET TAKE NOTE... you do realise a lot of people in stores do this either as a laugh or because they cant be bothered to see what the original price they are discounting down from was, if their boss says reduce all them cds to 3 quid they just print a load of the same stickers off regardless of how much they all where to start, i asked a lad in asda who was doing it. So it aint really that funny anymore (was it ever?), just a heads up. carry on with the 'comedy'

This was part of a bigger 'Avril Lavigne' campaign run by ASDA..." 2 for 3"...you had to pay for 3 but only take 2 home which, if you've heard the album, is a bargain of sorts

You silly fucks! Originally, you had to find 300 pennys to buy it, now, you only need 3 pound coins! Come on BW, get with da proggramme innit!
