Deathwatch: Wham bars gone for good

6 October 2011

deathwatch It’s been on the cards since last month but the Wham bar, and Highland Toffee are no more – the makers of the classic sweets, New McCowans, have had their factory closed by administrators.

Production was suspended last month when the administrators were called in but now the Stenhousemuir factory is to be closed for good, with over 100 jobs to go. Pan Drops and Bonbons are also the victims in this dark day for kids young and old everywhere.

Administrators Grant Thornton said they would continue to look “at all potential options” so we’re praying that the brands might still be saved.
