Commercial Break: Hip hop's history in four mouthy minutes

27 January 2011

This. Is. Amazing. Made as some kind of promotional/viral ad for some website or other, it’s a man with all of the hip hop ever inside his mouth.

That might be a slight exaggeration, but he’s called Eklips and here he delivers a potted history of the whole of hip hop using only his gob in just over four minutes. One take, no mistakes, and almost all of the significant stuff except Roland Rat’s ‘Rat Rapping’ is in there.

Now Mof’s over in the corner, trying to do his own human beatbox version of the history of Britpop. We’ll upload the video once he’s mastered it – he’s struggling with Echobelly’s ‘Great Things’ at the moment though…

I've seen this guy before. I'm sure he has a Cliff Richard medley on youtube.
