Commercial Break: Cliche piled upon cliche...

11 August 2010

YAAWWWN! Here’s yet ANOTHER advert set on an American bus, starring a bagpipe-wielding Scottish-Korean man and a zombie arguing the toss with each other.

When are the ad agencies going to get their heads out of their arses and realise that the viewing public can handle concepts that are a bit more complex and sophisticated than this?

How about having the Scottish-Korean man and the zombie arguing on a train? Or in the departures lounge at an airport? Or at a sporting event of some kind?

It’s ALWAYS the bus with these people. Always.

I'm presuming there's meant to be a contrast with the Korean-Scottish man thing... but as a Scot, that accent! Eek...

That's a very half arsed zombie, the suit's not even shredded, the make up is a painted mask rather than prosthetics, all very cheap.

I saw one of these contradiction advertisements yesterday during the news although I don't remember the Starburst bit. Anyway, it was about a pakistani complaining about not enough water, then wooooosh!

I think they should change the name - what about OPAL FRUITS and I'll throw in a strapline for good measure 'MADE TO MAKE YOUR MOUTH WATER' can't fail can it?

That Scottish-Korean tag isn't going to get much use is it?
