Commercial Break: Arnie’s beaches home to swinging pollution scene

30 July 2009

Seems that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s California is the place to go if you want to trash a beach, or at least, that’s the overriding message that we got from this ad.

Check it out – it looks like a hell of a lot of fun, just like one of those 1960s surfer films. Looks like you can leave all kinds of crap lying around and everyone will think you’re cool! As the excitable teens in the ad warble: ‘Picking up trash is such a hassle; it’s way more fun to build a garbage castle!’

This HAS to be the green light for us Brits to fill our bin ships up with landfill, point them towards California and wait for the party to begin. Kind of like a revenge attack for all the Police Academy films that weren’t the first two.

EDIT: Just watched it again. Might actually be an ANTI-pollution message. We’re not entirely sure. We'll probably have a third look at it a bit later on.

Those Californians better get their dictionaries out and teach their kids the meaning of sarcasm, before they think it's a sing-a-long with Barney.

    > This HAS to be the green light for us Brits to fill our bin ships up with landfill, point them towards California and wait for the party to begin. Maybe that is exactly what Arnie wants. If we aim ships full of crap at California, they will run aground on one of the east coast states or Canada first and ruin their beaches.

Mr Dawson, thats a truely incredible lack of perception. I knew some people had trouble with sarcasm but this is a whole new level
