Christmas theme park rapscallions back on the streets

27 October 2011

nativity Remember those two scoundrels who were jailed for their part in that crappy Lapland New Forest ‘theme park’ a couple of years ago? Well they’re OUT – released on a technicality.

Victor and Henry Mears were convicted under Trading Standards legislation and sentenced to 13 months hard jail time each because of the state of the theme park, where punters paid up to £30 a ticket for a muddy field, some crappy fairy lights dangling from a tree and a broken ice rink, among other things.

Admittedly, they probably would have been due for release just before Christmas anyway (IRONY!) but once the judge found out that an idiot juror had been texting her boyfriend during the trial, the case went to the Court of Appeal and their convictions have been quashed.

All we’re saying is watch out for the half-arsed festive transformation of a field near you in the not-too-distant future…

I am still waiting to hear the idiot juror has been banged up for Christmas.

Read this yesterday on the Beeb, no mention of her being banged up for contempt, wasting police time, etc. At the risk of sounding all Daily Mail about it, what a ****ing stupid ****, they should have IQ tests for juries.

    > £30 a ticket for a muddy field, some crappy fairy lights dangling from a tree and a broken ice rink, among other things. They should have been more honest. No doubt if they described it as an English Winter Theme Park, then they would be OK.

So does this mean they are officially innocent?

I'd be careful describing them as "scoundrels" Andy.
