Apple release iPhone fix to sort out useless update

12 February 2013

Apple have had loads of drainage and overheating issues of late, with their iPhone devices. Even Vodafone were warning their iPhone 4S customers about a number of problems caused iOS 6.1, telling them not to upgrade.

Vodafone said: "While Apple’s investigations continue, we would recommend that anyone who has not yet installed iOS 6.1 on their iPhone 4S should delay doing so until Apple has confirmed that the problem has been fixed."

Three issued a similar cautionary message to their customers.

However, last night, Apple released a 6.1.1 update for iOS, which they're hoping will fix things because, to be honest, Apple have been making a dog's dinner of everything in the post-Jobs era.

Apple say: "This update fixes an issue that could impact cellular performance and reliability for iPhone 4S."

Is it safe to update your iPhone now? If you're having problems with yours or, indeed, haven't noticed any difference at all, feel free to swear wildly in the comments.

The update fixed a 3G issue - there was no battery issue to begin with.
