Amazon and Argos battle with same-day delivery

6 November 2015

amazon-logo Argos and Amazon are going toe-to-toe as they are both offering a same-day delivery service from today! Imagine their delivery people sprinting down your drive after you've ordered a thing from each company and make them prove their love for you.

That, or they'll just lob your fragile parcel into your garden without a care in the world.

Anyway, Amazon has launched Prime Same Day, which means Prime customers can order stuff before noon and get them on the same day between 6pm and 10pm. Typically, this initially only available in London and some other places in the South.

Argos are launching their service today, and they'll charge you £3.95 for the privilege. The catch with Argos is that, while there's no monthly subscriptions, it only applies to orders over £50.

We're wondering if both companies are prepared for people asking for same day delivery on Black Friday on 27th November. That's going to be bedlam. There's Cyber Monday coming too, if the UK retailers go for it.

If customers don't end up fighting in the aisles, we might see a load of delivery workers going at it in the street. Here's hoping.

No this is wrong - Fast Track Delivery is FREE currently if you spend over £50, otherwise £3.95 Fast Track Collection - where you pay online and collect in store - you get £1 back when you spend £25 or more.

"Argos are launching their service today, and they’ll charge you £3.95 for the privilege. The catch with Argos is that, while there’s no monthly subscriptions, it only applies to orders over £50." It's actually £3.95 under £50 and free for all orders over £50
