£4.5k of taxpayer's dosh goes to 'psychic academy' for crying out loud
Do you live in or around the Porthcawl area in Wales? You probably work hard don’t you, trying to put bread on the table even though there’s a recession on? Yeah, thought so.
Please don’t try to get too angry then, as we share with you the joyous news of Paul and Deborah Rees, also of Porthcawl, who have been handed a £4,500 grant of taxpayer’s cash to help set up their business as professional mediums. Yes, seriously.
They’re in the process of launching the Accolade Academy of Psychic and Mediumistic Studies from their home and the Welsh Assembly Government and Department for Work and Pensions’ Want2Work grant is just what they need to help get them going.
Paul has tried to justify the grant by saying, “What I would say to people who feel their tax money has been wasted is, if they lose a child, if they lose a mother or father, then they will go to a medium to get peace that their child has passed safely and is in a better place.”
“People who have lost mums and dads or a child deserve all the respect in the world in their grieving and deserve a medium who can give them respect.”
He then pulled his cloak over his face, cried “Mwhhhaaahaaahaaahaaaa!!” and disappeared in a puff of smoke, off to carouse with the dead in some invisible netherworld. No, of course he didn’t – but he’s still sitting on £4.5k of your money so it’s hard to try and make too many jokes about it all.
