Fast cars, low prices and a free sniper rifle for your trouble
In the opening scenes of Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore can be seen discussing a new bank account with a member of staff. It transpires that instead of of receiving a free pen or Woolworth's voucher for opening an account, customers were given a free gun. Of course, that was nearly a decade a go, and Americans aren't nearly as batshit gun-crazy as they were then.
Don't be stupid, of course they are. And to prove it, here's Max Motors in Nevada - "fast becoming the Premier New and Used Car Dealer on the Internet" - with a website that looks like it hasn't been troubled by a designer for since the invention of the car. But what catches your eye as you scroll down the page is their special offer - it's not just a free gun you receive when you buy a Viper sports car from Max, but a free sniper rifle:
Viper rhymes with sniper - presumably the only justification needed to run this amazing offer. Tempted? Have a listen to their radio commercial to learn more. Imagine the sort of people who would buy a Viper - then imagine them in possession of a sniper rifle. Good god.
