Airbag Recall Extends

We've written about the Takata airbag recall a lot, and the story just won't go away.

Remarkably, Takata are recalling another 35-40 million airbag inflators, which takes the total recall to 69 million!

This mainly affects the car industry in the US, but we've heard that before right? It is thought that this mess is going to take until 2019 to sort out once and for all.

In case you missed the story, the inflators are the things that fill the airbags up with gas when you crash. Sadly, these Takata inflators have been exploding with too much force, and it has resulted in injuries and even some deaths, worldwide.

Thus far, of the millions of cars hampered by these defective inflators, only 28% of them have been fixed.

There's three additional manufacturers that have been added to the list of cars in this recall - now there's Tesla, Jaguar Land Rover, and Fisker. The specific models of vehicle haven't been released, and will announced in the next couple of weeks.

There are no deaths or injuries linked to the new recall.
