Tesco release iPhone 4 tariffs day before launch

The iPhone4 bandwagon may have already rattled past consumers with it reaching town tomorrow, but that's not stopping Tesco attempting to jump on board. They've just released their tariffs for Pay and Go and monthly contracts (click through for the full-size image):

Bitterwallet - Tesco mobile iPhone 4 prices

At first glance, the inclusion of a 12 month tariff for the 16GB makes is far more attractive for those who'll want to slavishly upgrade to the new handset inevitably released next year, and it blows away any deal Orange have to offer in terms and data and other extras. The 12 month deal also beats Vodafone's 24 month tariff with its unlimited texts and additional minutes; although the handset costs £130 more with Tesco, Vodafone's lowest tariff is £5 per month more, a difference of just £10 over 24 months. You can compare and contract deals with avid Bitterwallet reader Alan's price comparison spreadsheet here.

Tesco are attempting to sweeten the deal with triple Clubcard points for every £1 spent on topping up with Pay As You Go deals, and a 1000 point bonus for signing up plus triple points for every £1 of your monthly bill. One question that Tesco haven't answered is that of availability - mobile providers are already struggling to meet demand and imposing restrictions ahead of the release.

    lol, £569 for a phone.
  • Alexis
Why does it cost £349 for an iPhone 4? You can buy an iPod Touch for £199, and they're virtually the same.
  • itsme
    Alexis, you're stupid.
  • Patrick
Ipod touch and iPhone 4 the same? The iphone 4 is a world apart from the itouch.

@selondoner79 Check out the three blog, they've said they will be releasing prices for the 3gs tomorrow, still no work on the iPhone4 though!

"I’m interested in how Tesco are selling an 8gb iphone 3gs" The same way the rest of the world is?

Updated spreadsheet to include Tesco's prices. Tescos prices just look far too cheap compared to others.

    Prices now confirmed http://direct.tesco.com/p/inc/specials/iphone/tariffs.asp

I really can't understand that spread sheet, it has just to many details and looks complicated.

How odd... The iPhone tariffs are all listed on the Tesco website as having 1GB of data allowance (http://www.tescomobilepaymonthly.com/iphone-deals/iphone-deals.aspx?Page=0). But when you click on the "Terms apply" link (http://www.tescomobilepaymonthly.com/Terms.aspx), it says that: Unlimited calls, texts, web & data: fair use policy applies. Monthly data allowance 500Mb. Which is it? 1GB or 500MB?
