TalkTalk to replace passwords with your voice

18 March 2016

TalkTalk After falling victim to a cyber attack last year, TalkTalk are looking at new security methods, and the most notable one involves biometric technology, which in this case, means you'll be able to log into your account just by speaking.

This new system, where your voice is your password, is called TalkSafe, and it will be available to all four million of TalkTalk's customers. The technology will analyse your voice, and if you sound like yourself, you'll get logged in.

When you say "with TalkSafe, my voice is my password", it'll analyse your voice and let you in. TalkTalk says that over a hundred things will be analysed, including the way you pronounce things, the speed at which you talk, the emphasis you put on words, and a whole load more.

TalkTalk's consumer managing director Tristia Harrison said: "We've listened to what our customers have told us about wanting a simple, secure service. TalkSafe is an important and exciting step on that journey."

"As the first UK telecoms provider to roll out voice biometrics as standard, we're proud to be leading the way in making this advanced technology accessible to millions of homes across the country at no extra cost."
