iPhone rumours ahoy! Video and 32GB handset for Summer?
The Apple rumour mill has been out of commission recently, ever since the iPhone Nano speculation was led round the back and shot through the head with a boltgun. Now attention has swung back to the iPhone proper, and what tweaks and tucks Apple may make to the existing handsets.
Market analyst Mark Abramsky thinks Apple will release two new models of iPhone in the summer. The first will be a 16GB/32GB model with improved camera and new video facilities, and a 8GB basic handset with no GPS or video and costing just $99, or about £75. Business Insider carries the full spec that Abramsky believes we'll see in June/July:
Of course the usual caveats apply; in this instance, the speculation may be the result of a particularly vibrant cheese-induced dream. (As an aside, a friend of mine called Phil once had an idea for a video game called Cheese Dream Warriors, where eating different cheeses before bedtime gave you different superhuman abilities during your dreams; gorgonzola for invisibility, mascarpone for flight, etc). A quick look at Abramsky's recent form doesn't make for pretty reading either.
If you're in the market for an iPhone, it's certainly worth hanging on to see what Apple produce in the Summer - but until they do, we'll all be left guessing.
