Half-hearted iPhone fanboys - a date for your diaries
That is, if you still have diaries. You've probably got an online calendar or one sat on the desk, next to your Red n' Black notebook. But if this post is of interest, what you probably haven't got is an iPhone. You aren't that interested in getting one, but might consider it if the price comes down or something. So my fairweather friends, here's that date - Friday October 9th. That's when O2's exclusivity deal with Apple will end and the iPhone will become available on other networks, at least according to documents seen by Mobile Entertainment.
Yesterday The Register reported that T-Mobile are already selling the iPhone on the hush-hush to retain some big-spending customers, but there's still no confirmation on whether Orange will also sell the handset, or which model they will sell - the smart money seems to be on O2 retaining exclusivity of the recently launched iPhone 3GS.
