RBS, NatWest, Ulster Bank to fully reimburse all glitch-knacked customers

It looks as if Royal Bank of Scotland are going to do the right thing and refund every penny to every victim of last week’s computer meltdown that snarled up the accounts at RBS, NatWest and Ulster Bank.

The Mirror have seen documents showing that those affected will get back any charges that were levied for exceeding overdraft limits as well as interest charges that occurred as a result of the chaos.

Credit card customers who were hit with late payment charges through no fault of their own will be reimbursed and all credit reference agency negativity will be wiped. RBS will be providing customers with a copy of their details free of charge if they’re concerned.

Best of all, they’ve also reached an agreement with other banks to offer similar support to customers who have been affected as a result of the glitches. Phew – so we all love banks again now, right? RIGHT??

    Given that I've still not seen a penny of my wages since they were due Friday the 22nd, there's no love from this Ulsterbank customer. It's still thoroughly screwed up with no known end date for the Northern Irish RBS group customers for the foreseeable.

    I'm with Haggis. Banks cock up but agree to rectify their errors and spin it into a positive story for the banks.

    If they're also agreeing to cover consequential losses for non-banks - i.e. catalogues who routinely charge a £12-14 fee for late payments - then this is more than I expected. If they've only made an agreement with other banks, then it's hardly newsworthy and should be a standard part of their service after a fuck up of these proportions.

    Because I'm a NatWest Black Account customer I got this email from my personal bank bitch: I am sure you are aware that NatWest as part of the RBS group has experienced some system issues recently. I am also conscious that we have as yet not had an opportunity to speak in person following my assuming responsibility for the ****** and *** ****** Private Banking "patch". Although the majority of the customers I am responsible for have thankfully felt little impact I wanted to ensure that you are aware how to contact me should you wish to discuss recent events or advise me of any difficulties you may have suffered so I can assist if I am able.
