Which is the best supermarket in the UK?

The battle to be the best supermarket trading in the UK is over, and we have a winner! For now.

Aldi has beaten their rivals Lidl to become the best supermarket in Britain, getting the top prize at The Grocer 's Gold Awards.

The German budget chain, now has a bigger market share than Waitrose, also grabbed the award for Own Label Range of the Year. Aldi's Mamia brand of baby products added to the long list of own label prizes it picked up in summer at a Grocer awards.

Aldi UK boss Matthew Barnes said: “The recognition by The Grocer Gold Awards provides consumers with the assurance that Aldi is the best supermarket in Britain."

“We remain dedicated to offering our customers the highest quality products at everyday low prices, and as we continue to open new stores in 2016, we hope more and more people throughout the UK will choose to come to us for their full weekly shop."

So there you go! Aldi can't put a foot wrong at the minute. Everyone else needs to shape up!
