Retail Deathwatch: Envy call in the administrators
The market for overpriced fashion threads could be about to shrink ever so slightly following the news that Envy, the retailer of overpriced fashion threads, has plunged into administration. That’s right, we said plunged.
They have 23 stores nationwide and another 20 concessions within Debenhams stores – and now it’s all in the hands of moustache-twirling cost-cutters Neil Bennett and Michael Healy from administrators Leonard Curtis (who may or may not be an actual person)
The company was sold to a consortium of private investors in March, but this latest move suggests that it hasn’t worked out quite how everyone expected or hoped.
Envy stock clothing by popular brand names such as Duck & Cover, Boxfresh, Tom Wolfe, Idiot Grip, Boy Diamond, Treasureness, La Comme Du Profiterole and Jizz-Bom. Apart from the last five in that list – we just made them up for shits and giggles.
Oh, and Shitz N’ Gigglz – that’s another label that they sell.
No it isn’t.
