Coca-Cola having a redesign

20 April 2016

The famous Coca-Cola bottles and cans have been rejigged and messed with a number of times, and the sugar vendors are at it again, redoing all their labels in a bid to catch your eye on the shelves.

If you're a fan of the silver Diet Coke can, it'll soon be looking rather different. From now, all variants of Coke will feature a 'red disc' design, and you can see it right here.

How about that? The red looks matte, while the other bits look glossy.

This new packaging will be hitting the shelves in the coming months, as supermarkets wait for everyone to buy and drink the ones with the old design on them.

Coke's famous glass bottles will also be getting redesigned as well.

James Sommerville, Coca-Cola's VP of Global Design, said: "The unification of the brands through design, marks the first time in our 130-year history that the iconic Coca-Cola visual identity has been shared across products in such a prominent way."

"When applied across packaging, retail, equipment and experiential, this new approach becomes a global design language that utilizes a historical brand icon to present the range of Coca-Cola products available today in a contemporary and simple way."

So there.
